How does salary hike affect me, as a private sector employee???

I think it is sooooo good that our government is realizing the FACTs that retaining talents really require lots of money and more than often this is definately the most easiest method to retain talents.

However this is still questionable on how well it can lower their resignation %.

I wonder how the private sectors will react to this approach by the government, are there chances that they will also raise their bar again and widen the gap once more bringing everything back to square one? Woah this is such good idea, everyone here will be so happy~

Being an engineer myself, I think I also need to benchmark myself to something else to see if I'm above the salary bar-line or below......
